The Ripe Food and Craft Market

The Ripe Food and Craft Market is a community event and offers fresh organic local fruits and vegetables, as well as a wide range of handmade art and accessories. In addition, the market features various live musicians and a petting zoo for children.

Contemporary Art at the Boulevard

Picasso and Miro – Passion and Poetry

This is another one for our ExpatConnect Arts Community. Take a journey through the artistic lives and works of two of history’s most important cultural icons: Pablo Picasso and Juan Miro.

Sergio Gaddi, the curator, writes: “The exhibition is not just a journey that tells a dialectic relationship between history and contemporaneity, but also a dialogue between the signs of tradition lived and interpreted by the artists, and the energies, which ignited their creativity.”


Cirque Le Noir

Harem Al Sultan: The Exhibition

For all fans of the popular Turkish TV seriesHarem Al Sultan”, which is being aired across the UAE (dubbed in Arabic), this is a great exhibition, which takes visitors on a journey through the Turkish Ottoman era and the palace of “Harem Al Sultan”.  The multimedia exhibition features original décor, costumes and accessories used during the show.


Shrek – The Musical

GITEX Shopper (Spring Edition) 2016

“Massage” – Play in Hindi

This play is for everybody who understands Hindi. In “Massage”, Indian film, stage and television actor Rakesh Bedi impersonates 24 different characters that range fro a Punjabi film producer to a South Indian actress and a Bihari politician. Bedi tells us the story of Happy Kumar, a common man who comes to Mumbai with empty pockets but a big dream of becoming a hero.

This play, which was written by famous Indian playwright Vijay Tendulkar, is addressed to adults (18+).


“Autism Rocks”

The “Autism Rocks Fest” is a charity event and a fun packed day for the whole family featuring a petting zoo, bouncy castles, face painting, horse riding, crazy golf competitions, and much, much more. As far as the live entertainment programme is concerned, there will be performances from American hip-hop artist Flo Rida and rapper Tyga.

British born philanthropist Sanjay Shah is the organizer of the event. His youngest son, Nikhil, was diagnosed with autism in 2011. From then on Shah started to dedicate his time to stage gigs around the world to create awareness of the “condition” and raise money for autism research.



Beach Polo Cup Dubai 2016

Attention all polo players: This is the 12 edition of the competition that brings professional polo players from around the world together at Dubai’s iconic beach location. There are four participating teams composed of Emirati and international players. “Rhythm Raaga” presents Disco King Bappi Lahiri

Welcome famous Indian music composer Bappi Lahiri to the Dubai stage. Another one for our ExpatConnect Music Lovers: Do you like Electronic Dance Music (EDM), progressive and electro house? If yes, than this event is for you. Swedish DJ Avicii (aka Tim Bergling) is coming to Dubai presenting his famous hits, including “I Could Be the One”, “Addicted to You”, “Waiting for Love”, and “Wake Me Up”.

Avicci was ranged 3rd on DJ Magazine’s annual Top 100 DJs in 2012 and 2013 and has been nominated twice for a Grammy Award, once for his work on “Sunshine” with David Guetta (2012) and once for his song “Levels” (2013).


Piknic Electronik Dubai feat. Michael Mayer

This is for all fans of electronic music. Dubai Holding SkyRun is a charitable run up the 52 floors, 1334 steps, 265 meters of the prestigious Jumeirah Emirates Towers Offices. This is an official race of the Dubai Sports Council, in aid of Al Jalila Foundation to support obesity research in the United Arab Emirates. Dubai Holding SkyRun is internationally recognized as the only Dubai race on the Vertical World Circuit. Berlin Philharmonic String Quintet

If you like classical music, this one is for you: Welcome the Berlin Philharmonic String Quintet to the Dubai stage. The quintet consists of five members of the world’s leading Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, which is unique in its instrumentation: instead of enlarging the string quartet with an additional viola or cello, the ensemble is completed by adding a double bass. This deliberate choice allows the ensemble to act like a one-to-a-part string orchestra since all five string sections are represented.

The programme will include music pieces from Antonin Dvorak, Gioacchino Antonio Rossini, Ottorino Respighi, Giacomo Puccini, Giovanni Bottesini, and Antonio Bazzini.

Shamila Dance Extravaganza 2016

Dubai Desert Road Run

First held in February 2012, the Dubai Desert Road Run is held several times a year, appealing to all elements of the running community – from first time social runners, to some of the best UAE based athletes.

Organized as a community event in which runners of all abilities are encouraged to participate, the Dubai Desert Road Run features two distances: 10km and 3km. Both distances are run on private roads over a safe, traffic free course. The start and finish for each Dubai Desert Road Run is at the heart of ‘the village’ in The Sevens stadium, some 40km off the Dubai coastline.

Education becomes an explosive experience in this massively fun and entertaining stage show that demonstrates the power of scientific discovery through the ages. Back by popular demand after the hugely successful workshops held in 2015, the brand new Ministry Of Science stage show will be debuting now in Dubai.

Expect lots of explosive drama and chemistry on stage – as well as noisy and messy demonstrations to explain a range of scientific theories. Audiences are expected to take part in many of the experiments as part of the fun and educational experience of the show. Ireland Awake 1916 – 2016” is an incredible three hour show backed by the award- winning Danú Dubai Theatre Group, top-entertainer Paddyman and a host of Irish dancers, musicians, singers, actors and poets from Ireland, the UK, the Middle East, Europe and North America.

Furthermore, the show has been put together in association with The Irish Embassy of the UAE featuring His Excellency, Ambassador Pat Hennessy, in line with the official Irish Government’s 1916 Commemorative Programme.

McGettigans presents Jason Bryne live in Dubai

McGettigan’s is presenting the critically acclaimed Irish comedian Jason Byrne for two fantastic shows as part of his “20 Years A Clown” tour.

Jason first travelled to Dubai to take part in the inaugural McGettigan’s Comedy Festival and headlined the four-day comedy marathon. Demand for comedy was so high that he returned to Dubai to perform sellout shows at “The Baggot” last year. He returns with his brand new tour celebrating 20 years at the fringe, which has received rave reviews.


29th Nakheel Table Tennis Asian Cup

Attention all music lovers: “Love Music Your Way” is a brand new music festival in Dubai featuring world-class music acts, as well as a wide range of food and beverage trucks. “Rudimental” and “Disclosure” are the two top performing acts and mark the beginning of the festival.

Drum and base band “Rudimental” rose to prominence in 2012 when their single “Feel The Love” topped the UK Single Chart. In 2013, the band was nominated for a Mercury Prize, and, over the years, won several awards including the Brit Award, and the Mobo Award for Best Album.

Disclosure” is an English electronic music duo presenting House music at its best. The duo was nominated for Best Dance/Electronica Album at the 2014 Grammy Awards for their debut album “Seattle”. Most recently, they released their second studio album, “Caracal”, which won them a second nomination for Best Dance/Electronica Album at the 2016 Grammy Awards.

“4th Impact” live in Dubai

­“4th Impact” is a Filipino girl group known for participating in several Philippine and South Korean talent shows, including the “World Championships of Performing Arts”, which they won twice. In 2015, the group travelled to the UK and competed in the twelfth series of “The X Factor”, finishing in fifth place. The group’s next studio album “TBA” will be released in 2017.
