Have you been to the Dubai Municipality’s Birds and Pet Market? After opening in September last year, the market features now 40 pet shops and is the right address for all those who want to buy or sell pets, or spend some time amongst some fun loving feathery and furry creatures.
Located in Al Warsan 3, in Dubai, close to Emirates Road, the market also features a veterinary hospital where all pet lovers can get support and help regarding all matters related to pets.
Petting farms for children
In fact, before buying one, it might be useful to visit the hospital and get some information and tips on what pet would suit your lifestyle best and how to create a welcoming environment for your new friend.
Most recently, the Dubai Municipality hosted a petting farm for kids on the premises of the market. Here, the little ones had the chance to get close to rabbits, hamsters, parrots, chicken, pygmy goats, and dogs.
All of the market’s animals are undergoing regular health checks, and there are daily inspections to make sure that all shop owners follow strict health and safety regulations in line with international standards. So, no worries, you and your children are perfectly safe.
Dedicated facility for walking dogs
Furthermore, the Dubai Municipality has included various other facilities at the market, such as shops for pet food, medicine and accessories, as well as a dog hotel, in case you need somebody to look after your pet while you are travelling.
An additional 40 pet shops, a dedicated facility for walking dogs, pet shows, animal welfare events, and workshops in which pet holders can learn how to train their dogs, are all part of the market’s next development phases.
If you are a member of our ExpatConnect Pet Lovers Group (if not, please check it out) and are crazy about birds and other animals, the Birds and Pet Market of the Dubai Municipality is a great place to visit, especially if you have children.
