As a vegan or vegetarian it is not easy to find the right restaurant, even though Dubai probably offers the world’s widest range of places to eat.
With this in mind, ExpatConnect has checked out some restaurants and put together a list of top five vegan and vegetarian restaurants in Dubai that are definitely worth visiting.

1. Tidjoori (vegan)
Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), Opposite Royal Le Meridien Trident Grand Residences, level 1
This restaurant focuses on European food and organically sourced ingredients. It has plenty of things on the menu, ranging from pizza (try the “Supreme” one!), pasta, burgers, and risotto, to smoothies, shakes, and “Black Forest” cake. You can also buy vegan food products like special types of cheese.

2. Bestro (vegan)
Dubai Mall, inside Galeries Lafayette, level 2
This restaurant specializes on wholefood and a wide range of fresh juices, of course, made without sugar. The menu offers various gluten free, lactose free and soy free dishes, including a delicious zucchini pasta meal. For those of you who are allergic to nuts, be careful. A lot of the dishes contain nuts.

3. 77 Veggie Boutique (vegetarian and vegan)
Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT), Cluster W, Tiffany Tower
This restaurant offers a vegetarian menu with plenty of vegan options (local produce), including pasta, wraps, soups and risotto. Try the “Molly Munch” or the “Golden Sizzlers” and the cheesecake – all very delicious. In case you are dieting, the menu shows you how many calories each meal has which is quite helpful.

4. Sukh Sagar (vegetarian)
Al Karama, near Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel, Kuwait Street
If you like Indian food and are vegetarian – this is the place to go. This restaurant is known for its rather exotic vegetarian cuisine, including the famous Aloo Bukhara Kofta. People say this place reminds them of Mumbai. At times, it’s quite crowded and loud but this adds to the wonderful authentic Mumbai flair.

5. Little Italy Ristorante (vegetarian)
Opposite BurJuman Mall, behind Regent Hotel
This restaurant focuses on typical Italian pizza, pasta and risotto dishes but all vegetarian style. It is a rustic, warm and welcoming place for couples and families alike. Try the “Barbaresca” pasta dish, the spicy “Napoli” pizza, or the “Contadina” salad. They also serve Mexican food and have yummy desserts.
